Swyftx pros and cons
Pros
- Listed on AUSTRAC's Virtual Asset Service Provider Register with no conditions shown (searched 22 October 2026)
- Swyftx holds ASIC AFS licence 568543, in effect from 3 July 2026, covering basic deposit products, derivatives and non-cash payment products, and Swyftx's terms expressly state that its spot crypto services are not provided under that licence.
- AUD bank transfer and PayID deposits are free, and AUD withdrawals are free and unlimited once the account is verified (Swyftx fees page)
- Trading fee tiers fall with 30-day volume, from 0.6% at the Regular tier to 0.1% at Tier 9 (from A$6,000,000)
- Swyftx says it holds crypto assets 1:1 on full reserves and holds ISO 27001 certification (company statements)
Cons
- A spread is charged on every buy, sell and swap on top of the trading fee, and the fee tier does not change it

- Card deposits may incur a fee of up to 2.4%, where the Regular trading fee is 0.6%
- Swyftx's terms say its spot crypto services are not provided under its AFS licence, and derivatives are issued by Eightcap Pty Ltd
- Custodial: the Risk Disclosure Statement says a customer may be an unsecured creditor on insolvency and that crypto assets are uninsured, and no proof-of-reserves report was found on the pages we checked (22 October 2026)

Swyftx worked example on buying and selling A$1,000 of Bitcoin
Inputs come from the Swyftx fees page and help centre, checked 22 October 2026. No account was opened and no order was placed. The spread is not included because Swyftx says it is built into the displayed price and varies with the market, so no rate can be taken from the fees page.
Inputs
- Deposit A$1,000 by bank transfer or PayID (free)
- Buy A$1,000 of Bitcoin at the Regular tier
- Later sell A$1,000 of Bitcoin at the Regular tier
- Withdraw the AUD to an Australian bank account (free)
Fees on each step
| Step | Route | Published fee | Fee on this step |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deposit | Bank transfer or PayID | Free | A$0.00 |
| Deposit (alternative) | Card | Up to 2.4% | Up to A$24.00 |
| Buy | Regular tier | 0.6% | A$6.00 |
| Sell | Regular tier | 0.6% | A$6.00 |
| Withdrawal | AUD to an Australian bank account | Free | A$0.00 |
| Total | Buy plus sell before the spread | 0.6% twice | A$12.00 |
Swyftx's spread is excluded from the arithmetic. Swyftx says it charges the spread on every buy, sell and swap in addition to the trading fee, that the fee tier does not change the spread, and that the spread is included in the displayed price. The network fee for sending Bitcoin to an external wallet is also excluded, as is any change in the Bitcoin price between the buy and the sell. The arithmetic uses the Regular tier. The help centre article's example is an account with no prior trades whose single A$100,000 trade reaches Tier 1 at the next hourly calculation. Tier 2 starts at A$300,000 of 30-day volume.
